the VE3CSK/VE3NH
Of course I'm a member of Radio
Amateurs of Canada! While not everyone agrees that the
organization is being run efficiently, nevertheless RAC is our official
Canadian voice in ham radio affairs, and if it is to represent our interests
it needs the support of ALL hams in the country. So, if you are Canadian
and are not currently a member, won't you consider joining? Remember,
strength lies in numbers!
I have been a member of the American
Radio Relay League almost continuously since 1958
when my parents purchased my first membership as a Christmas gift. Throughout
these years, I have looked forward to receiving QST Magazine each month,
have taken part in various ARRL contests and activities, and have been
active in the DXCC program which has provided much of the "wallpaper" in
my shacks. Belonging to ARRL brings an added dimension to ham radio!
VE3CSK has been "on the air" for over 50 years; it was April 3, 1959 when
John Dicker, VE3CSJ and I sat for our first ham license in North Bay, Ontario.
How time flies when you're having fun!!
"Magoo" is the nickname given me by high school pals many years ago.
Of course,
I'm not as
near-sighted as my namesake (yet)!!
